5). Muay Thai

This is very similar to kickboxing. Muay Thai was developed by the Thai people and involves using the entire body, including arms, legs, knees, fists, etc. 

6). Boxing

Boxing relies heavily on punching. It helps you learn several self-defence skills on a deeper level. 

7). Judo 

This type of self-defence relies on grappling. It comprises sweeps, locks, and throws. 

8). Karate

This includes several styles and branches. Some of them include; 

  • Kyokushin
  • Shotokan 
  • Goju-Ryu

9). Taekwondo 

This is reliant on kicking as the legs are good at delivering quick, powerful blows. However, its overreliance on the legs requires high flexibility and makes it less effective than other types of self-defence martial arts.

10). Combat Sambo

This is very similar to MMA. It combines grappling, throws, clinches, kicks, and wrestling.
